libc++ 4 not available on zesty

Asked by Tillmann Karras

My goal is to use std::variant on zesty. According to [1] libc++ 4.0 added support for it. Unfortunately, no version of Ubuntu currently provides anything newer than libc++ 3.9.1. Is there a specific reason for this or is it just that nobody got around to building a package?

I suggest you report a bug. If the bug and security fixes are significant then the package will be updated sooner rather than later.

You might find a PPA. E.g. https://launchpad.net/~anthony-justsoftwaresolutions/+archive/ubuntu/libcxx has libc++ 5.0 for xenial.

Can you help with this problem?
