Could the latest libburn4 be rolled back into Natty, etc?

Asked by clubsoda

Brasero burns DVD-R DL coasters on projects over 4.7GB and it appears that an old version of libburn4 is to blame, yet no warnings are given and "simulated burn" doesn't pick up the problem.
Distributions up to Natty are definitely affected, possibly Oneiric too.
Could Pangolin's libburn4 be pushed to those earlier distro's?

Natty may also benefit from the current versions of
dvd+rw-tools
growisofs and
genisoimage.

Where package dependencies aren't broken, is there any reason not to keep the older distro releases up to date with the latest packages?

Cheers.

Report a bug if you suspect one.

You could use xfburn in the meantime :)

Can you help with this problem?
