Why isn't this package updated to patch 6.1 on trusty?

Asked by Peder Stray

Why isn't this package updated to patch 6.1 on trusty? That patch fixes a null pointer violation and core dump in apache. This should definitely be included for Trusty which is still LTS under support.

I suggest you report a bug. If the bug and security fixes are significant then the package will be updated sooner.

In the LTS releases of Ubuntu, stability is king over getting the latest version of packages to the OS. This is common to all Ubuntu releases but even more so in the LTS releases.

See https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=774313. But pretty much any patch that causes apache _not_ to segfault on every other request when this module is in use would definitely be in the category of "stability is king over". It's a simple patch resetting a deallocated pointer to NULL.

There is already a bug report for this https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libapache2-mod-auth-pgsql/+bug/1272857
but apparently a new package with that patch has not yet been built.

So it seems... Would be nice if someone who knew could build it...

Can you help with this problem?
