Is language-selector a genuine Ubuntu package?

Asked by Book 'em Dano

I tried to report a bug of language-selector using apport to gather necessary info, but apport claims that language-selector is not a genuine Ubuntu package and a problem can not be reported. According to here: http://packages.ubuntu.com/lucid/language-selector, the package is maintained by the Ubuntu Core Developers. What elements must a package need to be considered genuine? So should I file a bug against apport?

The problem was that I recently changed my repository listing and forgot to update it. Once I updated the list, apport worked correctly to retrieve info for the language-selector package.
