Just go into the package manager and search for kubuntu-desktop
Install the package and that will install the entire base system of kubuntu.
No need to back up your data and do a fresh install.

You dont need any backup anything, you will find all your data in the same place /home and /home/Desktop.
We can install KDE envirnment by : System > Administration > Synaptic
Search Kubuntu-desktop and install it. This package depends on all of the packages in the Kubuntu desktop system. Installing this package will include the default Kubuntu KDE installation.

Actually i dont have a very fast internet connection i have to install it from a cd only so any other option except installing it from package manager.???
Add the cd to the sources list and install it from the disk.
