When i log-in, the terminal shows up and nothing else

I installed a kubuntu theme from update manager. When i open my pc, the log-in screen comes up. I type in user and pwd, i hit enter, and i can only see the terminal already opened and nothing else . What can I do ? Please help !

this happens because of a power relapse or a problem in you're memory (RAM). you will need to install Ubuntu Again, through the terminal by command or by booting up a Cd.

"sudo apt-get install ubuntu-desktop" this is the command for the desktop edition of Ubuntu.
if you still have windows or an alternate Operating Software you download the setup too.
if the problem proceeds visit.
