Kubuntu 10.10 calls itself Lucid Lynx in the help file !

Asked by curious

Hello
please dont get mad at me because it is not a software related problem.
But it seemed like that i might have not understood the naming philosophy and it is irritating me.

The latest release of Kubuntu is Kubuntu 10.10 Maverick Meerkat.
But in the help file in Kubuntu 10.10 it is calling itself Kubuntu 10.10 Lucid Lynx !

don't have an aneurism over it. haha

the "files" are all the same for lucid lynx, maverick, ubuntu, kubuntu, etc., as it's the same operating system. ubuntu uses the gnome desktop, kubuntu the kde desktop. ver 10.10 (maverick) is just an update for 10.04 (lucid). the person makes changes probably just missed correcting what you saw. there are tons of files to update and it's an easy oversight for anyone.
