Natty 11.04 beta2: slow file transfer in kubuntu

Asked by srikkanth87

file transfer is too slow and often takes longer time when compared to ubuntu. This can be clearly seen when transferring files to usb-drive (formatted in ntfs).

Does kubuntu needs special configuraion options to handle file transfers or is this a KDE or kubuntu specific issue...

Does it happen with all USB storage devices?
Do you have the latest BIOS?
Can you also give the output of:

lsb_release -a; uname -a

Thanks

Please find my comments below...
--> Yes i happens with all the usb devices (some times deleting files from my primary harddisk also takes more time than usual)
--> i Do have latest bios (i confirmed with couple of my friends who reported the same on their computers too)
--> Outputs of lsb_release -a; uname -a below....
 srikkanth87@srikkanth87-desktop:~$ uname -a
Linux srikkanth87-desktop 2.6.38-8-generic #42-Ubuntu SMP Mon Apr 11 03:31:24 UTC 2011 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
srikkanth87@srikkanth87-desktop:~$ lsb_release -a
No LSB modules are available.
Distributor ID: Ubuntu
Description: Ubuntu 11.04
Release: 11.04
Codename: natty

Though this is reported from natty the problem applies same for the previous versions of kubuntu as well.

I suggest you log a bug. Natty is still in Beta so is NOT ready and NOT stable. You will get a lot of issues like this (even in the few weeks after release).
