How to download part of a torrent

Asked by Lies Van Rompaey

With eg. utorrent you can select which parts of a torrent you actually want to download. This is handy when you need only a couple of episodes a not a whole season, or one track and not the whole album.

Is it possible to make such a selection with ktorrent? If yes, how?

You can use Azureus to do this. To get it follow this link:

http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/azureus/Azureus_2.5.0.4_linux.tar.bz2?download

You just extract the contents of the archive and run the "azureus" file. After adding a torrent it asks which files you want to download (if the torrent is not packed in one file).

I'm not familiar with ktorrent, therefore I cannot tell you how it's done using it.

I hope you'll like Azureus.

you can activate the complement (add-ons) Info widget

go to preferences > configure ktorrent > add-ons

After adding a torrent it asks which files you want to download, and show all statistics about a download.
