ktorrent package

none of my torrent engines are working

I have used Transmission sucessfully before. But now anything I try to download shoes 0 of 0 peers, even though they are healthy torrents.
I tried KTorrent to compare , and I am getting a "stalled" error. This has been going on for days.
I use FIOS and was wondering if they block traffic, or is there a "fix" for this that I am missing.
I AM NOT A TECHNICAL PERSON, so please word you \r answer for the layman.

Thank you for the link.
But it didn't seem to answer my question, not at least in a way that makes any sense to me.
Everything works fine on my computer, all my Internet connections are fine EXCEPT downloading torrents, which DID work for a few weeks, and suddenly stopped.
I am very frustrated!

It seems you provider is blocking them actively. I would contact them.
