Seeders appear to leech from my seeding

Asked by roly on 2009-06-06

Seeders appear to download from my seeding for a discreet time. At first and with a little help from my ignorance I guessed it was the DHT, but I observed this phenomena occurring with seeders having DHT turned off as well.

Obviously there's a slight bandwidth issue, but more importantly what's happening?

It occurs regardless of whether there are any leechers on the seed and has me a little concerned as my limited knowledge of Linux and my long history of P2P (unauthorised backdoor leechers) is feeding my paranoia.

Thank You for your time

Thank You if you have bothered to consider this and my apologies if you already knew what i have just found out.

This is not a Ktorrent problem but a tracker short sight.

Ktorrent connects briefly with peers only to drop them as it ascertains their status as seeder not leecher.

I have to thank Kulag for raising this question on KTorrent.org and George for the answer.
