Ktorrent's RSS feeds does not work, but used to.

Asked by Diederik

Hi
I had a few rss feeds setup with KTorrent version 4.1.3 from the normal Install sites for Ubuntu 12.04. (I used the same configuration for KTorrent from Ubuntu 11.10)

The RSS feeds worked fine for a few weeks, then stopped working. When I try an refresh the RSS feeds them manually I get the error message: "Download Failed: The process for the protocol died unexpectedly"

In the logs I see the following messages:
Quote:
Thu Jul 5 20:46:55 2012: Failed to load feedhttp://eztv.ptain.info/cgi-bin/eztv.pl?id=506&name=Hour%20UK%20%282011%29,%20The : The process for the protocol died unexpectedly.
The URL to the rss feed works 100% when viewing it from a browser, and downloads the feed correctly. When I try and add a new rss feed (say this one that works.) I get the same error.

I have also tried to delete/rename the ~/.kde4/share/apps/ktorrent dir but this did not help.

Anyone seen this problem before? Should I log a bug rather? I have posted a similar question to the fourms, but noone awnsered. http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=12078076

If you make a fresh Ubuntu user, is it ok there?

Yes, it does work as a new user! So it seems that some setting is broken. How would you suggest I fix it?

Yes we have isolated the issue to settings :). If you close ktorrent, unset / delete all the ktorrent configs then rerun it you should get vanilla settings

Ok, how do I do the "unset / delete all the ktorrent configs" part? Deleting ~/.kde4/share/apps/ktorrent didn't do it...

Can you help with this problem?
