Can't get 555 working

Asked by dzs

Hi!

The 555 IC in ktechlab seem to be broken, or hopefully just I do something wrong :)
I connected 5V to +, gnd to -, gnd to trg. I expected the output to go high, but it stayed low.
I also played around connecting th and trg to gnd/vcc in all possible combinations, but still no output.
The only way I managed to pull the output high was by connecting res to Vcc :-o

I also considered that the IC was burned out by my wild wiring and changed it to a new one from the components list, but that didn't help either :)

By the way, ktechlab is cool anyway!

Thanks for any help in advance,
Gabor

Yes, res must be connected to Vcc.
