Which Ubuntu release are you running, which version of kdrc do you currently have, and which one do you want?

The listing of all PPAs containing kdrc is here https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+ppas?name_filter=krdc
but I doubt that you will find the newest version in one of them.

I see the following options:
1. ask the providers of the listed PPAs to update the version that they provide to the newest one
2. download and compile the newest version yourself on your own system.
3. create a PPA with the newest version yourself
4. create a bug report asking that the newest version be provided in the official Ubuntu repositories (will happen only in the development version of Ubuntu), and if such package it successfully built, ask for a backport of that version to older Ubuntu releases.

I'm running Ubuntu 16.04
Currently have KRDC 4.14.16 installed
Would like to upgrade to KRDC 4.15.12.3
Tried the APT install from http://www.ubuntuupdates.org/package/core/xenial/universe/base/krdc ... but ...
.... after I uninstalled 4.14.16 with http://installion.co.uk/ubuntu/vivid/multiverse/k/krdc/uninstall/index.html
the newly installed version was not accessible

Best regards

The standard Ubuntu repositories for 16.04 contain version 4:15.12.3-0ubuntu1
There should not be any need to use ubuntuupdates.org, but the normal package management programs should let you install it.

What is the output of

uname -a
lsb_release -crid
dpkg -l | grep krdc
apt-cache policy krdc
apt-get --simulate install krdc

The 4.14.16 version runs stable 99.9%? of the time however,...

.... I experienced one system freeze yesterday (the CPU in overload) and had to power-down and reboot this morning with one (or more) of three apps that could have caused this, i.e. firefox, KRDC, thunderbird.

I assumed it could have been KRDC.... and then noticed a new version available...
