How to input my own language?

Asked by Anima Mia

I can't type Vietnamese like I could with Pidgin. How to solve this problem? I'm on Gutsy and SCIM works well for other programs like Firefox and Open Office. It just doesn't work on Kopete. SKIM has the same problem. Please help!

Try to install KDE language support packages for your language (search for kde-i18n in synaptic), it should fix your problem with Kopete (and all other KDE apps running under Ubuntu/GNOME)

No these packages didn't work. I couldn't have SCIM work on Kopete.

By searching Kubuntu Desktop in Synaptic, I found out there's a package called scim-qtimm whose description is SCIM context plugin for qt-immodule. I installed it and now I could type Vietnamese in Kopete.
