No indication of reception quality with wireless networks

Asked by Rastloser

Should KNetworkManager show the signal strength of wireless networks? I suppose so because in the WLAN list, there are status bars to the right of the WLAN's name, and the shape of the WLAN tray icon suggests this, too.

However, on my current Feisty installation, each WLAN, no matter how weak, is shown as having full signal strength. Before I file a bug, I'd like to ask here if this is currently a known and/or normal behaviour.

Many thanks in advance!

What's the brand and model of your wireless device?

I have a similar problem. While the bar shows signal status properly in the system tray, in the context menu under wireless networks the bars are pure white, and when moused over they change to pure blue.

I have an Intel PRO/Wireless 2200bg on my Thinkpad R51.

I'd also like to say that other than this minor issue, knetworkmanager works wonderfully.

Can you help with this problem?
