Thank you for your question but to be able to help you.

Do you want a app to use the msmoney files ?

Do you want just to open the files ?

I don't sure but I think the Gnucash is the application you are looking for.

I think we are on the right track, but my msmoney file ends in .mny and gnucash does not seem to recognize it.. Any suggestions for importing?

To my knowledge, you will not find an application for linux that will manipulate the MS Money files, as it microsofts proprietary accounting/budgeting software. If you wanted to start working on your finances on linux, i'd suggest starting a new GNU Cash file at the start of a financial year or whenever you would like. If it's vital that you have all the data you previously stored in your MS Money data file, I'd suggest finding a spider-monkey that is good at manual data entry.

Gnucash do but maybe the old format if you go to http://www.gnucash.org/ read in the 2.0.4 release

"The GnuCash development team has continued to improve file import filters, which allow users to import work from old programs like Microsoft Money and Quicken. GnuCash can load QIF and QFX files, which are used by both of those programs"

Maybe if you already have msmoney can you export to other format.
