You have to have a package which has the ofx-plugin enabled, and also have libofx installed.
which version are you using now?

Yes, but which package has the ofx-plugin in it? Are you talking about kmymoney2-plugin-aqbanking?

The original packages of Ubuntu are built without the online banking plugins. You have to install either from source or from a PPA package provided by one of our users, which is a snapshot taken regularly from our CVS.
Unfortunately, those are the only options available at the moment. I can point you to the PPA package if you are interested.

As I said, the version that comes with 8.04 does not have the online banking plugins.

Hello,

I'm using Kmymoney2, installed thanks to synaptic on Ubuntu 8.10 Intrepid Ibex, and I imported succesfuly my account files from Grisbi into Kmymoney.

The problem is now that I can't import OFX file from my online bank: I could with Grisbi, and now, when I Import a downloaded OFX file (whether with "File - Import - QIF" or with "File - AqBanking Importer"), the process seems to be succesful (and the program says it!), but no change is taken into account...

I tried to read some post on internet, and I understood that I need libofx: it is installed (version 1:0.9.0-3ubuntu1 (intrepid))

When I look at the installed plugin, there's only one: KBanking
In the menu "File - Import", there are 4 possibilities: QIF, Gnucash, Modèle de compte and AqBanking Importer. No OFX option.

Can you help me?

Thanks a lot!

Etienne (France)

Dear etiess,
I'm so sorry the import OFX function, is what i thought would work.
The interesting part of your question is the import function not updating
the account and sounds like it could be solved in preferences.

Sincerely Tim Lowe

etiess, can you open a new question with your problem? It seems different to Tim's.

BTW, Tim, did you install a version with the ofx plugins enabled?
There is a PPA available for Intrepid with the plugin enabled.

Hello,

I solved the problem by activating these sources:

deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/claydoh/ubuntu intrepid main
deb-src http://ppa.launchpad.net/claydoh/ubuntu intrepid main

I didn't visit the page https://launchpad.net/~claydoh/+archive
It had the solution!

Thank you

Etienne
