You can encrypt your file with a private key, so anyone who wants to access that file has to know the passphrase.
I don't have access to it now, but I think the option is in the Save As dialog. Encrypt your file, or smth like that.

You can set up encryption for your file by going to Tools -> Configure KMyMoney -> Encryption
This page will allows use to use encryption via your own private key and the KMyMoney Recovery Key.

Here are a few links that may help you.

So I have encrypted my kmy file, but is there a way to password protect the whole program as well? Even though the file is encrypted, KMyMoney still opens it up no big deal without a need for a password. Thanks for any tips.

Set up the encryption, then save your current file as an encrypted file. THEN, you will be prompted for your GPG key to open your file.

Can you help with this problem?
