keyboard problems

Asked by Nicholas Shust

recently changed my office configuration and am no longer using external keyboard and mouse. the problem is that without the external keyboard the right side of the internal keyboard does not convert properly, i.e. the characters on the right side of the internal keyboard are not being translated correctly. the left side works fine. if i put the external keyboard back things work fine. the internal mouse (touch pad) works fine. the internal keyboard works fine with windows (dual boot system). i am not changing something in ubuntu to tell it to use the internal keyboard, i guess. suggestions.

The num-lock key is probably on, and the laptop keyboard numbers are acutally on the right side of the keyboard. num-lock on my laptop is fn key with the scroll key. There should be a little light on the keyboard when the num-lock is on.
