Import kmymoney file from thumb drive?

I back up my Kmymoney files to a Kingston thumb drive. I have just reinstalled Ubuntu 10.04 and the Kmymoney programme but cannot import my back up file.

Please help! as I would expect to be able to open the thumb drive and any other removable drives when required?

I mounted the thumb drive first, found the dated My money back up file and :"open with" the programme. OK, so I retrieved my back up but it would be much nicer if the software has a normal link to the media thumb drive or CD
