Split Accounts for scheduled Transaction?

Asked by bladefallcon

I am wondering if it is possible to set up a scheduled transaction (only one of them) that would put a deposit in two seperate accounts. My paycheck gets split with some going into my savings account, and some into my checking. I would like to set this up as a schedule without having to make 2 of them. Is this possible?

Just like with a regular transaction, you have a split button next to the category. Clicking on it opens the split dialog, where you can add categories or accounts.
That's how I have setup the scheduled transaction for my salary.

I am well aware of the ability to split the categories, but what about the accounts as stated in my question?

"Clicking on it opens the split dialog, where you can add categories or accounts." As stated on my reply, you can add both.

Clicking on the Accounts section does not give me anything even close to looking like the ability to split accounts.

Click on Ledger -> Select the account -> click on the New button on the transaction form at the bottom of the view.
The first field is Payee
The second is the category. To the right of the category field you have a button with a split arrow. Click on that.
It will open the splits dialog.

Sorry, you meant scheduled transaction.

Click on Scheduled transactions -> Select the schedules -> double click to edit the schedule
To the right of the category field you have a button with a split arrow. Click on that.
It will open the splits dialog.

perhaps I was not clear in my question, let me try again.

I have a scheduled transaction for my paycheck. That part was simple. I have the categories split into seperate things such as gross pay, net pay, medical, taxes, etc..

My Paycheck gets split automatically having part of it deposited into my checking and part into my savings. I am looking to find a way (without using 2 schedules) to not only split the categories, but also split the accounts so that with one schedule, I can have the money deposited into to accounts.

I understand how to split the categories. Please do not tell me to do that, or explain how to do that. I am looking for a way to split the accounts. If this is not possible, tell me so. If it is, please tell me how. I do not need a 5th answer that is the same as the first 4. If it wasn't the right answer the first time, it won't be right now either.

You can add accounts in the splits dialog too.
I had my salary setup like that so that some money would go into my checking account and some into an asset account. You cannot add an investment account there, though.
For that, I setup an intermediate asset account from where I would transfer later to an investment account.

Can you help with this problem?
