KMPlayer error: /bin/sh: mplayer: not found

I installed KMPlayer on ubuntu 9.10 karmic Kola (2.6.31.17 generic-pae kernel). but when I open and play it gives error message on console.
error: /bin/sh: mplayer: not found

Please help!

Run the following commands in a Terminal to install mplayer:

sudo aptitude update

sudo aptitude install mplayer
