This is a bit strange, considering that the Ubuntu package for kismet still has a maintainer, and kismet is (I think) a relatively popular program.

Launchpad Answers is for support (and information) requests, whereas this is really a bug report / feature request. Fortuitously, this issue has already been reported as a bug affecting kismet in Ubuntu (and in Debian as well, from which Ubuntu derives its kismet packages). See bug 407972. You may want to use the green link ("This bug affects N people. Does this bug affect you?") to indicate that you are affected; you might also want to use the green Subscribe link on the right to receive notifications about change in the bug's status and comments posted to the bug.

As a workaround, you can manually install official Kismet .deb packages for Ubuntu from http://kismetwireless.net/download.shtml. Alternatively, you could use one of the unofficial PPA's that provide the latest version ("Other versions of 'kismet' in untrusted archives" at the bottom of https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/kismet) and, assuming they are themselves kept current by their maintainers, make it so your Ubuntu system receives updates to Kismet automatically, along with updates to your other software. Or, if you wanted, you could download Kismet's source code and build it yourself.

Thanks for answer. Im using svn to build from latest, but for someone technically less talented should be problem.
