Kig error (Trusty)

Starting Kig from terminal produces the following output:

kig(18523): Couldn't start knotify from knotify4.desktop: "KLauncher could not be reached via D-Bus. Error when calling start_service_by_desktop_path:
The name org.kde.klauncher was not provided by any .service files
"

kig(18523)/kdeui (KNotification) KNotification::slotReceivedIdError: Error while contacting notify daemon "The name org.kde.knotify was not provided by any .service files"

Application would not start and an error pop-up says: "Could not find the necessary Kig library, check your installation."
Kig was installed from Synaptic on Linux Mint 17.2 amd64 (based on Ubuntu 14.04).

Mint is not supported by the Ubuntu community in any way. It's support community is entirely separate from Ubuntu's. I suggest you post on the Mint forum:
