keepassx blocks Shift key

when keepassx is operating i cannot use the shift key in any other application. once i shut keepassx down it goes back to normal. is there a way to avoid this problem?

There is a known bug which messes up the keyboard if you hold down a keepassx hotkey for too long. Could that be related?
