i dont know how to install programs :(

how do i install un rar i have just downloaded it i have all the files i just dont kno wot to do next

If you are trying to extract a RAR file you will first need to ad support for this in Ubuntu's Archive manager. You can accomplish this by:

1. Open Synaptic "System > Administration > Synaptic Package Manager"
2. Click on "Settings > Repositories"
3. Check off all the boxes under "Internet" on the first tab.
4. Click "Close"
5. Click "Reload" in Synaptic.
6. Search for "unrar"
7. Right click the package and choose "Mark for installation"
8. Click "Apply" in the main synaptic window.

Archive Manager should now be able to open RAR files...
