password for ARK

1st time i attempted to use "ARK" in Feisty, i was asked for a password . I did not set one and do not know the password default . Can anyone suggest a solution?

did you asked for the password if you starts ARK of if you are asked while you start to work with an archive?

i was asked for a password when i attempted to open an archive. The Ark app itself opened straight up without asking for any password. This is the first time i have used this application .If it helps ill add , i was trying to see if i could use ARK to open an "APM" archive which i understand is a type of "ZIP" file.

some archives are password protected and the archiver will automatically give you a password promt so that it can decode the archive. most archives however are not and thus won't require a password promt. if the archive you are trying to open is password protected then you will need to find the password somehow, such as asking the person that made the archive. you can also try brute forcing the password but that can take a long long time (days, weeks, months.. especially if you do not know how long the password is or weather it consists of special letters)
