kdesudo fails wth 'The process for the file protocol died unexpectedly.'

Asked by Paul Loughman

OS: Ubuntu 9.10 karmic
Kernel: 2.6.31-20-generic i686 (32 bit)
KDE: 4.4.1

Executing any GUI application with kdesudo (kdesudo dolphin for example) from Kicker (Alt+F2) or the command line results in the failure: "The process for the file protocol died unexpectedly." The application launches but is non-functional.

A work-around is to use kdesudo 'dbus-launch dolphin --nofork' which launches the designated application without the failure.

When will this be fixed?

This problem has been 'resolved' with the upgrade to KDE 4.4.2 which I did today.
