Change first day of week in Kontact

Asked by Mac

I have just discovered Kontact and it appears that it may suit my needs better than Thunderbird and Evolution. However the Kontact Calendar week starts on Monday and to avoid confusion with other applications, I need the week to start with Sunday. I have looked for solutions to make this change but any I have found do not seem to work with my system configuration.
I am using Kontact with Ubuntu 7.10 and the Gnome desktop.
Thanks for any help you can provide.

Thanks. I found that message myself but could not get my brain to interpret it correctly. I was looking for a " Global System Settings" routine and could not find it. That is one of the problems with coming to Linux from Windows. I have to re-train my brain.

After looking at the answer again and again and making sure I had "Khelp" and "Kcontrol" installed as suggested, it finally dawned on me that the setting was in [Kontact], [Settings], [Configure Date and Time], then under the [Time and Dates] tab. It could not be easier!

I am an MS "Windows" applications consultant and spent this afternoon writing instructions for a client's operation manual to use Windows XP for scanning and filing multi-page documents. I tell you that only to illustrate that I am not a complete idiot. BUT I have a heck of a lot to learn about Linux I look forward to the day when I can use Debian applications like I can use Windows applications and beyond that to when I no longer have to use Windows applications at all.

That did the trick for me too! I've been on linux (Ubuntu) for about a week... Kubuntu first for couple yrs - would NEVER go back to Windows - absol NO reason to! Linux does everything I need with no worries regarding contaminations etc....
safe/clean/no fluff/workable
Thanks for the solution!
