How do I move kmail maildir messages to evolution mbox format?

I want to import my kmail messages into evolution which apparently does not import the maildir format. Previous versions of kmail had a messages export function in the file menu. The entry in the file menu is still there, but the menu item is disabled. How can I move my messages from kmail to evolution?

I have switched from a mixed Ubuntu/Kubuntu desktop to Kubuntu only so I will not be using Evolution. That eliminates the problem for me. Sorry to have wasted anyones time. Thanks..
