How do I create an 'inbox' for Kmail?

During the process of configuring Kmail in the Kontact PIM suite of Kubuntu 7.10, I discovered the "inbox" is gone. How do i get it back? I know i can create a folder and give it the name inbox but is this the same? Should I consider removing Kmail or even Kontact and re-install, will this restore the inbox?
