WiFi Not Working on Kubuntu 9.10 - Dell Latitude D810
Friends, I just installed Kubuntu 9.10 on a Dell Latitude D810. The WiFi access works no better than it did in 9.04, which never worked. I've gotten some packages to try and troubleshoot this, but no help. Any advice? What's missing?
Thank you,
-Roger

After installing Kubuntu 9.10 I did not realise that the drivers for the Broadcom WiFi device in my Dell D810 was not a part of the installation. I've learned that since the Broadcom firmware is licensed code, it can not be provided with the Kubuntu distro.
I found resolution at: http://
My syslog had a statement that showed access to the wireless device failed and where to go to fix it. Never saw that kind of support in MS Windows!
So...the WiFi interface is working for non-WEP networks. That's the current bug, I can't connect to a wireless net with a WEP key.

Have you checked in "Restricted Drivers" to see if you have better drivers that you can use?
Can you help with this problem?
