How do I delete history in Kopete?

Asked by Carey

I am trying to discover how to manage my chat history in Kopete. I would like to be able to clear out the history so that I can share the computer with others and yet maintain my privacy. I have searched without finding any obvious controls. I am assuming that I need to do this as a manual file option. Working with history data can be very useful. It would be great if there were more control options available directly in the view history window. These should allow management of history on contact basis or overall.

Easy, you go to home /home/user/.kde/apps/kopete/logs I guess just look in map from kopete for logs.

Thank you. It was not exactly where you said but I was able to find it. I am new to Linux after many many years of being frustrated by windows. Adding this kind of functionality to desktop applications is of critical importance if Linux is going to be serious contender to Mac and Windows for less technical users. I am routing for Linux though. It is definitely making great strides. I get the impression that managing development of the Linux platform is much like herding cats. So much skill and talent moving in thousands of directions at once. Cheers.
