what do you use to receive files ?

I just receive a request from a pal to send me a picture or a mp3 file (the problem is not specific for any file type).
When I accept the file transfer request, it starts downloading, and gets stuck after 150 Kb.

Is this file transfer through an Instant Message client, like Pidgin/Gaim, Skype or similar?

Yes, Kopete.

Hi Eli,

File transfer in Kopete has been reported buggy, and I found at least two bugs regarding stall of transfer once it has begun:

http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=54367
http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=79507

It might be that the sender's messenger client and Kopete has some inkompatibility problems during file transfer.

Try this:

1. Check that you use the latest version of Kopete. If not, upgrade.
2. Sender changes his/her client to something else, just for this transfer.
3. Receiver (you) tries another client than Kopete, just for this transfer.

Hope this helps. :)
