Kooka lost main window

Asked by PatC

Some how when I start Kooka it now presents two separated windows.

One titled 'KDE Scanning-Kooka' shows just a list of Gallery files.
The other headed 'Scan Preview' which shows a set of preview options and nothing else.

How do I get the original Main Window back? So I can scan as usual.

I've tried uninstalling and re-installing but the same thing happens, so it seems the program is faithfully remembering its last setting (whatever that is).

Thanks.

I suggest running this as a last resort if you get no replies. I don't use kooka but understand how linux works :)

If you run:

cd ~/; ls -a

do you see a folder named .kooka

if so, close kooka and rename the folder, then relaunch

if not then try:

cd .kde; find -name kook*

and rename those, make a note of what you rename so you can rename back easily

when you relaunch the app you will get stock settings but will hopfully get you back to what you know.

If you gain nothing you can always rename back after closing kooka

Thanks for this one. You solved it for me.

I found the file ./kde/share/config/kookarc. Had a look at it to see if
I could change it. It was very long, so I renamed it. Ran kooka and this
generated a new kookarc file.
Every thing is back to normal.

Sometime I will check the old and new files to see if I can find out
what happened.

you can open the files in your favorite text editor to compare the data.

Can you help with this problem?
