how to get bibtex reference manager in the applications' list in kubuntu?

Asked by rutz

hi, i am new to the world of Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy. i have installed sixpack-bibtex through adept manager. Unlike after installations of some other softwares, i couldn't see bibtex automatically included in the list of applications. i have no idea then how to start using bibtex. could you give me any clue?

You can go to a command prompt and run "bib". To run with a graphical user interface, run "bib -gui". To add an item to the KDE menu, right click on the K icon and select menu editor (I'm on KDE4, but if you're on KDE3 I assume it's similar). You can then add a new entry, where you want it, with the command "bib -gui".

Can you open the menu, then right click on it and click "edit"? The option is definitely there somewhere, I've used it before, but I forget exactly how to access it on KDE3.
