Hi,
Those variables meaning depends on the program you are trying to use, so the firt question is, what are you trying to do? ;)

I'm trying to change the date_format in gdm template

https://translations.launchpad.net/ubuntu/jaunty/+source/gdm/+pots/gdm

I'm not sure, but i think this is the list that I need to change it:

http://manpages.ubuntu.com/manpages/intrepid/man3/strftime.3.html
