KDE Bluetooth: file transfer to Linux from SE W810i

Asked by Qiming Liu

I installed KDE Bluetooth from the Synaptic Package Manager and opened Applications => Internet => Bluetooth OBEX Client

I had no problems transferring files from my computer to the phone, but could not transfer files the other way round.

The Bluetooth device I had (Belkin USB) could not be discovered by the phone - how do you fix this?

Thanks,

Qi

If you are using Ubuntu Gnome with KDEBluetooth - It may be that you need to go to System -> preferences -> Bluetooth preferences -> switch it to visible and discoverable mode - If this is the case you may want to try the gnome-bluetooth package instead.

Gnome bluetooth works like a dream :) though it only receives files =[

having two separate applications for file transfer seems a bit messy, but at least it works!

Thanks a lot,

Qi
