Slow terminal

Asked by Ahmed Toulan

Hey guys,

Since I upgraded to the Karmic (about a month ago) I have been experiencing a strange problem that I have never seen before.
The terminals are really slow. It's always like I am on a slow ssh connection for instance. I type a bunch of characters and nothing appears and then after a second or so all the characters appear.

It's really annoying. Please can anyone help me debug this problem ?

Thanks in advance.

Sorry I forgot to say that it happens on all terminals I have on my machine. gnome-terminal, konsole, xterm and getting a terminal by pressing CTRL+ALT+F1.

Does it happen with other users on the same system

Yes it does. I created a user to test it and same thing happened.

I'd log a bug then as it is not related to user settings.

Hi,

Have you had a look at question https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+question/86582 and the corresponding bug #443318 ? It looks rather similar.
