Konqueror Navigation Problem

Asked by ervt

When attempting to walk back up (or down depending on how you view such things) to the '/' directory I'm left at my home directory. I can manually enter /etc or /usr but the file browser won't get there by just clicking the up arrow. I have the same install on another machine and it works as expected. What might be the trick?

I can't reproduce that here. What does your URL bar show when you get stuck?

I can't reproduce here at home, just at work. Basically when the address bar is showing just the root, "/", the list in the right pane just shows the home and media directories. The other directories off the root - etc, usr, and so on - are not displayed. Not a problem but just rather odd behavior.

I'm fairly sure that was intentional. I did see that behavior once or twice and I'm not sure what controls it. Don't know how I fixed it, although I am using a number of gusty packages now, so you might try that. Assuming you do try gusty packages, try as few as possible since they are definitely buggy right now (particularly wpa_supplicant for me).

Can you help with this problem?
