When I install a printer in Kubuntu it works fine but disappears on reboot. Can you help?

Asked by Peter B

I have set up Kubuntu on two machines and it works well. However, each time I close the machine down, my printer disappears and I have to reinstall. Can anyone tell me why??

Thanks for coming back to me - I have found the solution on another site. I have to install the printers through the CUPS website and now all works fine. Still a little confused as to why the straightforward Kubuntu printer installer doesn't hold on to the installation. When I do the same thing in Ubuntu all is fine.
