out of disk space. How do I increase, use all of hard drive

I only have 180 M/B's of disk space.This computer has a 250 GIG hard drive . How do I increase the disk space

You could try to sudo apt-get install localepurge . Chose only english and language that you use, others will be removed from disk and from the packages that you install in the future. With this you could gain some space.
Also look at the http://bleachbit.sourceforge.net/

Then please also uninstall unused old kernels... please copy and paste this command into terminal, to see the installed kernels:

sudo dpkg -l | grep -i ^ii | grep -i linux-image

copy and paste result here.

Please also give us the result of...

Open a terminal from the menu Applications → Accessories → Terminal and type or better copy and pate into terminal:

sudo fdisk -l

give your user password when requested, you don't see nothing when you type it, then press enter.
