Feisty reached its end-of-life on October 19, 2008 and is not available on the usual mirrors anymore. See https:/

I looked at the forum, but i can't modify /etc/apt/
Check that you have write access to this file or that enough disk space is available. What is the next step?

I would also like to note that i have to fetch the updates for adept everytime i open it so as to make the version upgrade button show up. I dont know if this is normal or not.

Oh,
Your system is so out of date at this point the upgrade tool is not in
the archive anymore. There are two ways to proceed at this point.
1. Backup your data and install the latest version 8.10.
2. There is a way to upgrade in-place but, it may leave your system
unstable. You'd be getting 7.10 Gutsy which will end of life soon. If
you want to do this let me know.
