Externe harde schijf/ External HDD

Mijn externe harde schijf (Iomega Prestige 320 DD2,5) wordt niet herkend door Kubuntu, ze staat dus niet bij "opslagapparaten" en is onbereikbaar.
Hoe kan ik dit in orde verhelpen?

I have an external hard disk (Iomega Prestige 320 DD 2,5), but my Kubuntu doesn't recognize it. It isn't visible and is unreachable.

How to solve this?

Ik vond ondertussen al dat ik die HDD moet mounten (normaal zou dat niet nodig zijn, behalve bij problemen, bij mij zijn er dus problemen).
Nu moet ik enkel nog te weten komen hoe ik dit moet invullen:

gebruiker@naam−pc : ˜ $ mount [ o p t i e s ] d e v i c e mountpoint

I have to mount this external drive, but I don't know how to fill in the command above.

Assuming the drive is an USB drive, can you give feedback on the following:

1. Unplug the drive
2. Open a terminal and issue the following command: tail -f /var/log/messages
3. Now plug in the device and post the information on this thread.

This information will tell us if the device is properly detected.

Problem is solved earlier this morning by help from a dutch forum.
