Hey Stefan,

To place an icon on the kde desktop:

Click the K menu
Choose System Menu -> Home Folder
Right click 'desktop' on the right window.
Right click on your background desktop
Left Click "paste file"

Hope this helps :)

Sorry that doesn't work :) i should have checked first.

Instead do the following:

Right click the empty desktop
Choose Create New -> Link to Location (URL)
In the Enter link to location box type: /home/sno/Desktop
(change username to the user you log on with)
Click ok

This will put a link to the desktop on your desktop :)

Thanks for the question.

You can add it to the panel by right-click on the panel, then Add applet to panel and choose trash.

On the background of the desktop:

On desktop right mouse-click->Create New->Link to Location (Url)

Enter 'trash:/' in URL field, Trash in File name, click on ok

I hope this helps
