howto preserve konsole window size

Asked by Joschi Holaubek

in kde3 I could preserve the size of the konsole window simply by choosing "save settings" from the menu. In kde4 (intrepid) this option is no longer there. I searched through the .kde directory tree to no avail. Can you help?

What I do:
* start konsole -> it comes up with size 80x36 (characters)
* resize with mouse to something useful such as 120x36
* quit konsole
* start konsole -> 80x36 again! (bother)

OK, I found some bug reports concerning this issue.

[1] has been rated as "wishlist" and is due to be fixed in upcoming kde 4.2 (to be released in January 09 if the kde team can makre the schedule). Personally however, I feel this is a serious regression compared to how usable konsole was in kde3.

The problem is *not* solved but it is answered. So I'll click on "Problem Solved" below.
