Root/Admin password

Asked by D Traynor

Sorry - I've just installed Kubuntu for the first time
I need to make some changes & with most other Linux os's I would have a "Root" password
I've looked through the q&a sections but cannot make much sense of it - When I'm presented with:
"Administration needed please enter your password for verification" - What do I type in ?
I was not asked to provide a "root" password when installing from disc

Regards - D Traynor

D Traynor,

Type the password which you use to login to Kubuntu.

Ubuntu does not set a root password it's hidden for your protection

Sudo is used to act as root. When you are prompted for your password it's actually your user password, not the root one
