install fpst-import thunderbird

Asked by octosys

I am new to Linux.
This is realy fantastic, but...... I have a lot to learn.
I use Thunderbird as a mail client.
Now I downloaded the pst-import plugin to import my old outlook pst file.
The plugin file is now on my extra HD partition (fat32) used for storage of downloaded files and other stuff.
This plugin is a tar.gz file.
How do I have to install this plugin from this tar.gz file ???
Many thanks in advance for teaching me.

I think you must simply download the xpi from
http://obm.aliasource.org/obm-archives/tools/pst-import_1.2.xpi

Then copy the file into linux partition
then add the addon using the Thunderbird menu Tools->Addon-> Install button : select and open the .xpi file

Hope this helps
