Can't find KMAIL Icon

Asked by Len Eckert

I'm looking for the Kmail program in Kubuntu (fiesty) and I have been unable to locate the icon (launcher). I checked add/remove option under Internet options and Kmail is checked and seems to be installed but when I look under Applications/Internet the option is not available. I made an attempt to un-install and re-install Kmail but it looked like the desktop would also be un-installed.

I have two boxes running Kubuntu now and I have looked everywhere that I can think of to locate the launcher to no avail.

Kubuntu developers desided that since kmail is a part of 'kontact' its own icon should be hidden.

I don't like this too, and to show it you need to edit

/usr/share/applications/kde/KMail.desktop

Remove hidden attribute there, and then it should appear in Kmenu.
If not run kbuildsycoca (it updates menu cache)
